SADEYSA'S "GIRLS OUT LOUD"

We went to Governor's Island. in Upper New York Bay. The people there were asking for suggestions.
1. Rent and sell alot of the houses.
2. Put some parks there.
3. Make it look new.
4. Put a school there.

Also, I think I would live there because it's historical and cool.
P.S. I like the church. I hope it stays there.

KEANNA'S "GIRLS OUT LOUD"

The most fun part of the East River Project was when we went on the sailboat and I held those crab things.
When we went to Roosevelt Island we learned about the hospital that only used to treat people with smallpox. It looked haunted. I will remember this the most.

My Experience
The experience was hot. Roosevelt Island was nice even though it was hot outside.
The castle. Not really it was a hospital for people who had smallpox. It closed a long time ago.

KIMBERLY'S "GIRLS OUT LOUD"

I would call my sailboat "The Famous Kimberly Sailboat."
I would pick Autumn, Teana, Yuanna, Amber, Chastidy to be my crew.
I would go to the islands.
I would take my boat to get it fixed. I would repaint it and put designs on it. I would also put pictures on it.

Ativa's "Girls Out Loud"

The most fun part of the East River Project was the sail boat cause of the animals and the darkroom cause it was fun doing your own pictures and making books.

I learned in East River Camp that there is so much historical history behind the East River.

AUTUMN'S "GIRLS OUT LOUD'

My name is Autumn. I am 11 years old and in the 6th grade. We went to the Lower Eastside Ecology Center, took a trip to Governor's Island, walked over the Brooklyn Bridge, went to Roosevelt Island, sailed on the Pioneer Sailboat, worked in the darkroom and I made this book.
The experience in this camp that was the most fun was when we went to the Ecology Center, took the boat ride and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge.

"GIRLS OUT LOUD" EAST RIVER PROJECT

In this summer camp, girls, ages 10 to 13, explored the East River through digital and film photography. They had the opportunity to work in a darkroom and to use Adobe photoshop. Each girl made her own book to display favorite photos and writing impressions of the 2 week project.

The East River Project was funded by The Hudson River Foundation.
