MUSEUM CLUB MENTORING PROGRAM
Museum Club, started in 1996 as an innovative “Big Sister” program combining mentorship and the arts, is our oldest continuous running program, now in its 9th year. On the first Saturday of each month throughout the year, girls and their mentors meet to have a lunch and travel to galleries and museums in New York City. For many of the girls, Museum Club is not only their first experience with arts galleries and museum spaces, but their first trip outside their neighborhood that is not with school or family. As girls learn to identify and discuss various forms of art, the confidence and comfort they evidence with the arts community in New York City grows.
